We are a 501(c)3, all-volunteer organization, dedicated primarily to "relocating" and "rehabilitating" abandoned, abused, homeless and shelter animals. We provide veterinary care, screen adoptive homes, give referral and breed information, and try to offer complimentary ground transport to some states in the Midwest (mostly to states in and near/bordering Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee). Sorry, we're unable to provide transport to the Southwest or Northwest states, and it should be understood that any transport is not guaranteed, as we must find volunteers to drive in "relay" fashion to get a dog to another state.
When we've placed an animal up for adoption you can know that we've addressed all vetting issues. We've given all needed shots, either spayed/neutered, microchipped and if needed, dentals. This means you're getting a new family member that will come to you as healthy as possible. If we have a dog with special needs you will know and understand all about those needs before adoption. We will also work with owners to solve problems they may be having before surrendering their dog. We give of our time, efforts and finances to help these little ones.
Please understand that we are volunteers that hold jobs and have our own families, so our adoption process may take 2-3 weeks to complete. We are never paid financially for our work. Our payment is the reward of saving an animal that had no chance and giving it back health and happiness and most importantly... a loving forever home. Since True Heart will accept dogs with physical issues, as well as senior citizens, we need financial sponsors to help us help them.
