"When I adopted Piper from True Heart I met a wonderful group of people. I joined True Heart shortly thereafter and became a foster home. True Heart is a wonderful organization with true morals and dedication to making a difference."
"Rescue is the joy in my life. It brings me happiness and it overflows my
heart with love. I look forward to the dog hair in my bed, the bad breath in
my face, and the ever so sweet cuddling. The happiness in their eyes is what
keeps me going. As long as they are happy I am forever happy."
- He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life,
his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last
beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.

"I
met Kim and Cheryl through a former colleague in the Fall of 2007, and was
elated to find out that they needed volunteers to help with the rescue. Volunteering
with
a dog rescue has always been a dream of mine - as dogs are my passion (i.e.
"my kids") - and being able to be a part of
this
wonderful
rescue has been so rewarding for me! It makes it all worthwhile when we finish
an application and find out that one of these little guys or gals has finally
found a forever home, or I get an application out of the blue for one of
the dogs that has been waiting for so long..."
"Being part of the True Heart Family, and being able to do what I do, is fun and rewarding; I can't imagine NOT being a part of this rescue."

"Since
1984, people
have asked me, “Why are you doing this? They are
only stupid dogs?” This is what I tell them: "I
know what true unconditional love really is because I've seen it in the
eyes of so
many grateful for so little.
Maybe you should learn something
from them.”
"Most people just look at me stunned. I cry for every success we have and I cry for every broken baby we lose. They deserve to know that there are people who love them even if it is only for a short time. I have had rescue kids that have truly changed my life and taught me what is truly important. If this makes me and my husband crazy, then yes, crazy we are and I would not change one minute of it."
“Rescue is not a job, it is a heart filled desire."

"Outside of the "nuts and bolts" that we do for TrueHeart MinPin Rescue (ie. fostering, home visits, etc) I would say that that being a rescuer does more for us, than we do for it - each animal teaches us something new about the enduring spirit of animals even after they've been through horrific, loveless existences . . the fact that they can still give their hearts to a human and it's unconditional . . that shows us that we have so much to learn from them as caregivers. Knowing that we've helped to save a life is priceless . . . I continue to get emails from adopters of animals I've fostered in the past, telling me just how much that dog has brought to their life and how much they love them . . it's part of what the Lord has put us here to do - to love and care for His creatures . . as scripture says, "What you do for the least, you do for Me."

Allysa: "I grew up living next door to my grandfather. He was, by my definition, the patron saint of stray animals. He instilled in me the big heart and huge desire to do everything in my power to save lost or abandoned animals. When I feed or try to pick up stray dogs and cats I feel like I am continuing the legacy of my Papa, and I know that would make him proud.
"As a child, Tevie wanted to be a veterinarian. Though he chose a different
path in life he has never lost his love for animals. "
We know we can't save them all, but there is so much we can do to make
the lives of the ones we do save better.
That's why we rescue!"
